so as we all know the summer olympics have been under way for a while right? and although the USA is down in the actual “gold” medal count we are up in the overall medal count leading with 82 to China’s 79. so you ask whats with the title huh? well im wanting to know who are your “beauties” in the games and who are your “beasts”. ill list some to start out with … feel free to comment on if you feel the urge.

Beauties

First off for my choices is American Nastia Liukin from Texas. This girl is freaking amazing at what she does. if you’ve been following along you know what im talking about. Liukin is going away with 5 medals, one of which is the gold in the all around. She’s a big threat to anybody and everybody when she is in the mix thats why shes number one on my list. 

Next is Nastia’s friend but also her greatest foe; American Shawn Johnson. This girl came out to play, and not to mention show off her game. Johnson was one of Americas “go-to girls” in gymnastics, as was Liukin. She showed her greatest strength in the balance beam, recieving a well desevered gold in that event and collecting three more medals along the way as well.

Finally we come to the third pick Leryn Franco of Paraguay. Although Franco was not a real threat in her competition, the javelin throw; she caught the eye of the public. The beauty of this 26 year old woman really caught my eye since the first time i saw her in the opening ceremony. Franco is one of those girls that doesnt need to dress up to make the guys jaws drop.  Her being an up and coming supermodel even futhers my intrest in her because its not all the time that you see a supermodel be in the olympics. To have any chance to be in any olympics and being a model taking time off and working out  and all that hard work it takes and stuff. thats why she made my list.

Beasts

 Now i know you all know who my first pick is. He has been the nonstop talk since the games have been over with. Yeah, you guessed it, nonother then Superman himself American Michael Phelps. He did it! He got the most Golds you can get in the Olympic Games. His hard work and dedication to getting the job done paided off now. These games will definitely go down in history because of his efforts and others.

 Next is “black lighting bolt” so i call him. The 22 year old Jamaican phenomenon Usain Bolt. This guy is truely amazing! i mean if you followed any of the track and field coverage you would have seen the true athleticism Bolt put on. like T.O. says “get your popcorn ready.” Yeah get it ready, and be ready to be stunned. Bolt pretty much made a joke of everyone else, the way he completely slowed down in the qualifying matches and pounded his chest.
